The Sunscreen Index is an educational reference compiled by Dr. Jane Yoo, MD, MPP, a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. It is not medical advice, and using it does not create a physician–patient relationship. Product suitability depends on your individual skin, history, and circumstances. Consult a board-certified dermatologist for personalised recommendations.

Accuracy

Product specifications are drawn from manufacturer labelling and public regulatory filings and are believed accurate at the time of publication. Formulations, availability, and labelling change, and vary by region — the same brand and product name may have a different filter system in different markets. Always read the label on the product you are buying.

Intellectual property

Individual facts — a product’s name, its SPF, the filters it contains — are not owned by anyone. However, this database as a whole is an original compilation. The selection of which products to include, their arrangement and categorisation, the clinical annotations, and the rating designations (★ Dr. Yoo Pick, ⭐ Favorite, ⭐⭐ Super Favorite, and Sport Picks) are the original work of Dr. Jane Yoo and are protected by copyright as a compilation. © 2026 Jane Yoo MD, PLLC.
